Tyrese Haliburton Reveals Warriors Were Interested in Him

The Golden State Warriors, in their quest for a young potential star, initially aimed for James Wiseman in the 2020 NBA Draft, but that endeavor didn’t pan out as expected. Interestingly, NBA All-Star Tyrese Haliburton disclosed on The Old Man & The Three podcast that the Warriors were keenly interested in drafting him. Haliburton shared that Coach Steve Kerr reached out to Coach Luke Walton after the draft, expressing admiration for Haliburton’s shooting and emphasizing not to alter his jump shot, as they believed in its effectiveness.

The 2020 NBA Draft indeed presented the Golden State Warriors with a critical decision, and in hindsight, passing on notable talents like LaMelo Ball, Tyrese Haliburton, Tyrese Maxey, Desmond Bane, Cole Anthony, and Immanuel Quickley appears to have been a missed opportunity.
