Warriors named All-Star Game host in 2025

The Golden State Warriors were formally announced as the 2025 NBA All-Star Game host team on Monday. The game will take place in San Francisco.

The date of the 74th All-Star Game in the league is February 16, 2025.

“We are thrilled to host our NBA All-Star festivities in the San Francisco Bay Area, where there is a long and storied history of basketball,” Adam Silver, the commissioner of the NBA, stated. “I want to thank … the entire Warriors organization for their support in bringing NBA All-Star back to the Bay Area.”

The midseason exhibition will be hosted by the team for the third time. When they were the San Francisco Warriors in 1967, they hosted their inaugural All-Star Game, which took place at the Cow Palace in Daly City, California.

When Tim Duncan of the San Antonio Spurs and Shaquille O’Neal of the Los Angeles Lakers were voted the game’s co-Most Valuable Players in 2000, the Warriors last hosted the event in Oakland.

Oakland’s Oracle Arena was replaced in 2019 by the 18,000-seat Chase Center, home of the Warriors, which is located close to the San Francisco Bay.

Moreover, the team’s previous Oakland arena will be utilized during the 2025 All-Star Weekend.

The 2024 All-Star Game is slated to take place in Indianapolis on February 18.
