Unexpected Warriors Player Shines vs Sacramento Kings

When Trayce Jackson-Davis made his NBA debut for the Warriors against the Sacramento Kings, he did not let anyone down. Jackson-Davis scored 13 points and pulled down 10 rebounds on Wednesday night while playing with the starting lineup, all against Domantas Sabonis.

“It was really enjoyable,” Jackson-Davis remarked. “Being able to go against a talent like that on this stage at home, getting my first start, just soaking it all in, it was a great experience.”

Jackson-Davis, the 57th overall pick in the 2023 NBA draft, showed that the Warriors could find him to be a true steal. In fact, until the day of the game, he had no idea that he was starting.

“The biggest lesson I take is just enjoying the process,” Jackson-Davis said. “I found out this morning that I was going to start, just always being ready to have your name called. Playing with my teammates, the vets, shout out to Rudy, Draymond, CP3, Steph, just helping me even in shootaround earlier today being in the right spots knowing what to do out on the floor.”

The Golden State Warriors have repeatedly demonstrated their ability to draft players at the highest level. The team’s draft selections of Draymond Green, Klay Thompson, and Steph Curry served as the foundation for their entire championship triumph. It is hoped that Trayce Jackson-Davis can demonstrate his true abilities during the regular season.
