LeBron James Approaches Steph Curry About Teaming Up for Olympics

LeBron James has been in discussions with a number of NBA stars about forming a squad, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic, who also reported that James was preparing to represent squad USA at the Olympics next summer.

“Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Anthony Davis, Jayson Tatum, and Draymond Green have all been in contact with James, and they are all ready to make a commitment as well. Separately, league sources told Charania that Phoenix’s Devin Booker, Portland’s Damian Lillard, Sacramento’s De’Aaron Fox, and Dallas’ Kyrie Irving all have a genuine interest in committing.

The star of the Golden State Warriors, Steph Curry, had already hinted that he would play for USA Basketball next summer, but some of these other names are now publicly available. The United States has a chance to be a dominant force at the 2024 Olympics thanks to players like LeBron James, Curry, Durant, Davis, and others.

While Charania clarified that James’ decision to play in the FIBA World Cup next summer is unrelated to USA’s dismal showing, it’s difficult to imagine that other American players won’t be more inspired to join him after witnessing how Team USA fared this summer.

Team USA will have the chance to show the basketball world exactly how dominant they are by playing behind James, Curry, Durant, and other stars.
