Jordan Poole sidesteps question about Draymond Green punch

The Golden State Warriors no longer include Jordan Poole in their lineup. Despite this, he is still plagued by the memory of his incident with Draymond Green in the offseason of 2022.

The guard for the Washington Wizards recently attended NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. Poole was questioned by Anthony Slater of The Athletic about the earlier preseason altercation with Green and the extent to which it contributed to his difficult 2022–23 campaign and ultimate departure from The Bay.

“We’re in Washington now, you know? Playing with Kuz, great duo. Being able to really flourish, expand your game. Like I said, a new team. Lead an entire group of guys. It’s a challenge that we’re up for,” Poole said.

It is clear that Poole wants to forget about that particular episode. Now that he plays for a squad headquartered thousands of miles away from his former club, he could be a first or second option.

Even while Poole and Draymond’s alleged feud has received the most attention, there have been rumors that the combo guard’s relationship with Warriors coach Steve Kerr is starting to deteriorate.

We’ll have to wait and see how Poole performs as a key component on a club that is rebuilding. However, it’s clear that he’s prepared to begin a new chapter in his nascent NBA career.
