Warriors leaning towards This NBA Draft trade

With the appointment of Mike Dunleavy Jr. as general manager in place of Bob Myers, the Golden State Warriors made several significant announcements on Friday. Dunleavy will have his hands full trying to turn the Warriors into a title contender as we approach the 2023 summer and NBA Draft. The Warriors have reportedly been receiving trade requests for a few players from clubs who are interested, according to sources.

According to some sources, the Warriors may try to move up from pick No. 19 in the NBA Draft by using Jonathan Kuminga as a potential trade asset. The NBA Draft is the following week. However, if recent sources are accurate, the Warriors may be trying to trade back in the draft and not.

Jonathan Kuminga is unquestionably one of the Warriors’ top trade chips if they decide to make a deal on draft day. Over the past two seasons, Kuminga has had sporadic appearances for the Warriors and hasn’t been included in the starting lineup during the playoffs. With a broad range of skills, he has a lot of potential.

In the previous campaign, Kuminga shot 52.5 percent from the field, 37 percent from three-point range, and 65.2 percent from the free-throw line for averages of 9.9 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.9 assists. He played a little more than 20 minutes per game while suiting up in 67 games, including 16 starts. However, Kuminga’s playing time decreased to just 6.1 minutes per game during the playoffs. Although keeping Kuminga is a possibility, he will likely require a job with greater clarity in the upcoming season.
