Draymond Green tells how Thompson rescued him with his boat

Draymond Green and Klay Thompson have experienced a challenging season with the Golden State Warriors, notably due to various controversies, shooting difficulties, and a recent 52-point loss to the Boston Celtics.

November 2023 stood out for Green, marked by the incident where he put Rudy Gobert in a chokehold during a game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, resulting in a five-game suspension.

Despite his suspension, Green maintained his fitness by regularly going to the gym. During a recent episode of the “7PM in Brooklyn with Carmelo Anthony and The Kid Mero” podcast, Green recounted an intriguing incident from one of his gym sessions. “The Bay Bridge was closed due to a protest,” he explained. “We tried to secure a police escort but couldn’t cross.”

Green reminisced, “Klay arrived on his boat to pick me up from Jack London Square in Oakland,” eliciting laughter from the hosts in the background.

Typically, Thompson receives assists from Green, but in this instance, the roles were reversed.

Over the past decade, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green have been integral to the Golden State Warriors, alongside Stephen Curry, collectively earning nine NBA All-Star selections and contributing significantly to the team’s championship victories.
