Steve Kerr unveiled how Jonathan Kuminga has impeccably ‘balanced out’ the team.

In recent weeks, the Golden State Warriors have been on an upward trend, performing significantly better than earlier in the season. They’ve secured three consecutive wins and emerged victorious in eight of their last ten games. Jonathan Kuminga’s standout performances have been pivotal in the team’s improved form, with his notable contribution highlighted by Steve Kerr in an interview with Kerith Burke of NBC Sports Bay Area, particularly following Kuminga’s impressive display in the recent victory over the Raptors.

“Jonathan Kuminga has truly transformed our team since we inserted him into the lineup and shifted to a smaller lineup with Draymond at the center,” stated Steve Kerr. “Kuminga’s knack for drawing fouls and driving to the paint, resulting in easy baskets, has significantly enhanced the balance of our team.”

During the Warriors’ victory over the Raptors, Jonathan Kuminga concluded the game with 24 points, six rebounds, and two assists. He made 9 out of 19 field goal attempts and had a flawless performance from the free throw line, going 6 for 6. Kuminga has started in 31 games this season, including the last 16 consecutively.

Kuminga has been logging just under 26 minutes per game, boasting career-high averages of 15.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game. His shooting splits stand at 53.5 percent from the field, 30.8 percent from beyond the arc, and 72.1 percent from the free-throw line.

This year, Kuminga has established a consistent role for himself after experiencing sporadic playing time over the past two seasons. Drafted as the No. 7 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, Kuminga was part of the initial cohort of players for the G League Ignite program.
