Bold trade proposal, DeMar DeRozan could potentially join the Warriors.

Discussion about a contract extension for Chicago Bulls star DeMar DeRozan has been relatively subdued, sparking speculation about his future with the team. The resolution to this uncertainty is expected to become apparent as the trade deadline approaches on February 8.

If the Bulls opt to acquire whatever assets they can for DeRozan, Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report has proposed an interesting trade scenario involving the Golden State Warriors.

Deebo is set to join the Golden State Warriors according to Buckley’s proposed trade. In this suggested trade scenario, the Chicago Bulls would trade DeRozan and guard Jevon Carter to the Warriors in exchange for the veteran but injury-prone guard Chris Paul, promising wingman Moses Moody, a top-three protected 2026 first-round pick, a 2026 second-round pick (via ATL), and a 2028 second-round pick (via ATL).

If this deal materializes, it could greatly benefit the Warriors. It’s well-known that Golden State is keen on providing superstar Stephen Curry with the necessary support as he approaches the later stages of his prime. Acquiring DeRozan would give them a dynamic scorer capable of easing the offensive burden on Curry. Moreover, Carter would contribute depth to the guard position and bring defensive tenacity to their backcourt.

Conversely, the proposed trade could prove advantageous for the Bulls on multiple fronts. Primarily, they would gain a seasoned floor general in Paul, bringing invaluable leadership to the team and offering valuable guidance to emerging star Coby White. Additionally, the inclusion of Moody, a promising young wing player displaying potential on both offense and defense, would further enhance the Bulls’ roster.
