Klay Thompson makes BOLD statement amid contract talks

The veteran shooter is still as assured as ever despite indications that contract extension negotiations between Klay Thompson and the Golden State Warriors have halted. On his boat, Thompson was live streaming when he announced, “My 13th year in The Association and it’s gonna be the best one yet.”

These remarks, while undoubtedly made in the context of the reports regarding Thompson’s contract situation, did not appear to be intended at the Warriors or anything connected to those negotiations. Despite this, Thompson, who has always been confident, is going into this season as confident as he’s ever been because he knows there is a lot at stake.

Thompson is motivated every day by his desire to join Steph Curry and Draymond Green in winning a fifth title. Thompson has another motive to commit to this season because he could be playing for his final significant contract in the NBA.

Although there appears to be a gap in years and money, the reporting on Thompson’s lack of a contract extension does not imply that the two parties are reluctant to extend their cooperation. While it makes sense for the Warriors to align Klay Thompson’s extension with the contracts of Curry and Draymond Green, it also makes sense for Thompson to want a contract that brings his playing days closer to an end.

Although Thomson and the Warriors are still at odds over a deal, the seasoned guard is certain that this will be his greatest season to date.
