Steve Kerr praises Chris Paul following strong preseason debut

Steve Kerr sounds like a coach who is overjoyed with the arrival of seasoned point guard Chris Paul after one preseason game. Following the 125-108 preseason opening, it appeared to Kerr that Paul ticked all the right boxes, despite the fact that the Golden State Warriors still have a lot to figure out and learn generally about their new-look starting lineup.

Following the game, when speaking with reporters, Kerr gushed over Paul and how impressed he has been with him, even going so far as to label him “amazing,” as NBC Sports Bay Area reported.

“Chris [Paul] is amazing. He keeps the game so easy and he’s such a great passer … You just kind of know he’s just gonna be making the right play over and over… Chris is amazing, really fun to have him on our side,” Kerr said.

With the exception of Andrew Wiggins, who clocked in with 14 minutes, all of the other starters played for exactly 13 minutes as well, including Paul. The Warriors began Paul, Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Kevon Looney, and Wiggins with Draymond Green out with an ankle injury. Paul finished the 13 minutes he was on the court by making 2-of-4 shots for six points, while also contributing five assists and four rebounds.
