up Saturday night, Chris Paul made his debut for the Golden State Warriors and put up a strong performance in a victory over the Los Angeles Lakers. Paul was efficient and successful, which is what Golden State needs from him, finishing with 6 points, 5 assists, and 4 rebounds in 13 minutes of action. The seasoned point guard had a hilarious response to playing against the Warriors for the first time after the game:
Paul has nearly exclusively fought against the Warriors throughout his career, but he is now on their side. Paul engaged Golden State in some of his first significant clashes while playing with the Clippers. Paul continued to fight the Warriors after switching to the Houston Rockets, several of which occurred in the postseason. While Paul was in Phoenix, there were some good regular season matchups between the Warriors and Suns, despite the fact that they never met in a postseason series.
Paul is now grateful to have the Warriors’ fan base’s support after all of those struggles against them. He was undoubtedly one of the Warriors fans’ most despised opposition players, but as long as he plays for Golden State, they will support anyone who dons a Warriors uniform.
Even though the preseason is largely meaningless, Paul did well on his debut.
