Lionel Messi is now the most decorated player in Football history

After a thrilling penalty shootout versus Nashville, Lionel Messi once again stole the show as he led Inter Miami to the Leagues Cup. The Argentina captain scored a fantastic long-range goal to open the scoring in the first half, but Fafa Picault’s goal in the second half, scored from close range to tie the score.

After 90 minutes, the scores were tied, and penalties were about to begin. Messi easily converted his penalty to give Inter Miami a lead in the shootout. After 22 attempts, only two of which were missed, the score was 10-9 in favor of the visiting team.

Messi became the most decorated footballer of all time by leading his team to victory and winning the first trophy of his time with Inter Miami. This was his 44th trophy overall and the first of his Inter Miami career.
