Golden State Warriors will workout former NBA 1st Round pick

According to ESPN, Harry Giles was the nation’s top high school athlete in 2016.

Sadly, due to injuries, he only managed an average of 3.9 points and 3.8 rebounds per game in his first year at Duke.

That being said, he entered the NBA Draft after only a year and was selected in the first round (20th overall) in 2017.

In his final NBA season, Giles averaged 2.8 points and 3.5 rebounds per game while playing for the Portland Trail Blazers in 2020–21.

Giles has tested out for the Orlando Magic and will test out for the Golden State Warriors next week, according to SNY’s Ian Begley on Friday.

Via Begley on Friday: “Harry Giles III worked out for the Orlando Magic recently and will work out for Golden State next week, his agent Daniel Hazan says.

Giles III will also participate in tomorrow’s Nets workout, according to @SBondyNYDN. Giles worked out in Las Vegas earlier in the offseason, as witnessed by the Knicks.

Giles might be a great addition for many clubs because he is only 25 years old and was once thought of as a future star (in high school).

In 142 regular season games (he also played in one NBA playoff game), he has averaged 5.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.2 assists while shooting 51.1% from the field and 25.8% from three-point range.
