Steph Curry, a member of the Golden State Warriors and one of the best basketball players in history, is also a world-class golfer. Curry is scheduled to receive the PGA’s 2023 Ambassador of Golf Award, according to a recent announcement.
The PGA presents the Ambassador of Golf Award each year to someone who has “fostered the ideals of the game on an international level and whose concerns for others extend beyond the golf course,” according to a spokeswoman from the UNDERRATED Golf Tour.
Curry’s UNDERRATED Golf Tour was described in the same release as follows:
“[Steph] Curry founded the UNDERRATED Golf Tour to provide equity, access, and opportunity to deserving student-athletes from underserved communities who may not otherwise be exposed to the full benefits of the sport. The mission is to increase the participation of competitive golfers from diverse backgrounds, and to engage corporate partners for mentoring, networking and visibility. The UNDERRATED Tour plans to expand throughout the U.S. and globally, further diversifying the pool of junior, collegiate and professional players around the world.”
Curry is a deserved recipient of the 2023 Ambassador of Golf Award, which will be given to him on July 8th at Firestone, for the work he is doing with his UNDERRATED Golf Tour. Curry, who is exceptional on the floor, is also succeeding admirably off it.
