Stephen Curry sends heartfelt message to Bob Myers

Bob Myers’ resignation as the Golden State Warriors’ general manager and president of basketball operations was announced on Tuesday morning. Shortly after the information was released, Myers spoke to the neighborhood media and gave an explanation of why he was leaving his post.

Myers and Warriors star Steph Curry are good friends. On Instagram, Curry sent a sincere message to Myers, who is now the team’s former general manager:

Possibly the most important aspect of Myers’ departure will be how it affects relationships. Myers will be leaving at a time when significant doubts surround the future of the Golden State team’s nucleus, which consists of Steph Curry, Draymond Green, Klay Thompson, and Steve Kerr.

While Kerr has stated his want to continue as their coach and Curry, Thompson, and Green have all stated their desire to remain as a three, there are a number of financial details that need to be worked out in order to keep this dynastic core together. Myers will be delegating that duty to someone else, even though he was once the ideal man to handle everything.

Although the Warriors organization is heartbroken today, they have been anticipating it. Myers’ departure this summer has been widely anticipated for a long, and it has now actually occurred.
