Jordan Poole is seen as the link between one era and the next by Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry, contrary to the opinion of some who think he may be traded.
Curry was asked how Golden State can transition from this period to an unknown future while speaking with Logan Murdock of The Ringer. Jordan Poole was his response.
“Following the game, I asked Curry how the Warriors could bridge the gap between the dynastic present and an unknown future,” Murdock wrote. “Curry paused, then glanced to his left, toward Poole’s locker, and pointed. ‘He’s the key,’ Curry said, for all to hear, before exiting the room.”
Murdock’s reporting was excellent, and Curry had an open response when asked about Poole’s and the Warriors’ future. Although there has been a lot of chatter about the prospect of Golden State trading the rookie guard, their franchise star sees Poole as the most important component of that team’s future.
Another illustration of Curry’s leadership that always rises above any outside noise that could be trying to discourage the squad is this reaction. Even if Poole’s playoffs was even more disappointing than Golden State’s, Curry is supporting his young teammate as he struggles to overcome his growing pains and develop into the player the Warriors need him to be.
