Stephen Curry had this say about Jordan Poole’s Future

The Golden State Warriors will need to perform well during this offseason. They lost to the Los Angeles Lakers in the second round last year after winning their fourth Larry O’Brien trophy in eight seasons. Steve Kerr’s winning streak in the Western Conference playoffs was broken by it.

Golden State must now choose its future course of action. Will they try to help Stephen Curry win another championship by trading the young stars? Will they adhere to the two timetables they have announced for the past two years, or not?

Jordan Poole, then, has the key to the latter, in Curry’s opinion. After the Warriors’ loss to the Lakers in Game 6, he said as much to Logan Murdock of The Ringer.

After the game, I questioned Curry about how the Warriors might straddle the dynastic today and an unknowable future, according to Murdock. Curry stopped before glancing to his left and pointing at Poole’s locker.

Before leaving the room, Curry loudly announced, “He’s the key.”

While the Warriors were in the playoffs, Poole had a lot of difficulty. All season long, Poole struggled with consistency, and in the team’s series against the Lakers, Poole buckled under the strain. In Kerr’s rotation, he was barely able to see the floor.

In games against the Lakers, Poole shot 34.5% from the field and 25.0% from beyond the arc for an average of 8.3 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 4.2 assists.
