Warriors’ Draymond Green defends his support for LeBron James

The fact that Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors is a huge fan of LeBron James is now widely acknowledged. The two players used to have a fierce competition on the court, but over the past few years, their animosity has evolved into a close relationship as Green frequently backs James in the media.

Green gets some flak for defending LeBron on his own podcast platform quite frequently. Green particularly addressed the notion that his support of LeBron James is disrespectful to Steph Curry in a recent episode of his podcast.

“I catch a lot of flak for the way I ride for Bron,” Green said. “People will be like, ‘Oh, you said this about LeBron, that’s disrespectful to Steph.’ Actually, the love I have for Steph, and how I ride for Steph – Steph knows how I ride for Steph… Me giving credit to LeBron or supporting LeBron or f–king being happy for Bron, that doesn’t dim Steph’s light. I always tell people that’s your losing a– mentality.”

Green asserts that Curry is aware of his support for Steph Curry, and that any discussion of LeBron is unrelated to the larger dynamic. While Green’s backing of LeBron James has drawn mixed reactions from some, it does not appear to be abating any time soon.
