Stephen Curry, the point player for the Golden State Warriors, is exerting every effort to keep his team afloat.
With a 28-27 record, the squad is ranked 10th in the Western Conference.
The possibility of Curry and the Warriors going on a run in the last few weeks of the season or perhaps causing some damage in the play-in tournament is not out of the question.
With a 92.4% free-throw percentage, Curry presently leads the NBA, but his other shooting stats have declined.
In a season when he participated in at least 46 games, his 39% three-point shooting would rank as the second-worst of his career.
In an effort to relieve some of the pressure on the 36-year-old two-time MVP Award winner, the franchise just recruited veteran guard Jimmy Butler.
Kerr knows what makes Curry great
Steve Kerr, the head coach of the Warriors, has previously received praise for seeing Curry’s potential and being the ideal fit for a player like him.
Kerr discussed what, in his opinion, makes Curry genuinely exceptional on the Willard and Dibs radio program on 95.7 The Game in the Bay Area.
“I just don’t think there’s ever been this combination of talent and humility and perspective and awareness and it’s just this incredible mixture that makes Steph who he is…” Kerr said. “To have that kind of swagger on the floor and be that genuinely humble it’s incredible.”
Kerr would be the most knowledgeable. Kerr helped guide the Warriors to a 67-15 record and title in his first season with the team.
In addition, Curry took home the first of his consecutive MVP honors.
How the rest of the season or Curry’s career turns out is still up in the air.
There’s no doubt about it. Curry will be remembered as the NBA’s greatest shooter ever. His resume undoubtedly ranks him among the greatest of all time.
