Here’s what Steve Kerr had to say after Warriors 3rd straight loss

For the first time this season, the Golden State Warriors have lost three straight games. Golden State lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday night, failing to pull off an incredible comeback.

The Warriors fell behind Oklahoma City by 19 points without Steph Curry, who was sidelined before to the game because of knee problems. The Warriors still had a chance to tie the game on their last possession, but Andrew Wiggins missed the layup that might have tied the score.

Steve Kerr, the head coach of the Warriors, started Brandin Podziemski, Lindy Waters III, Andrew Wiggins, Jonathan Kuminga, and Draymond Green in a smaller lineup to open the game. Kerr was candid about this lineup adjustment in an interview with reporters following the game.

“Steph not being there definitely influences things for us,” Kerr said. “Pairing Trayce [Jackson-Davis] and Draymond without Steph, without a pick and roll player, makes it really tricky offensively. So that’s why I did it.”

According to ESPN’s Ohm Youngmisuk, Kerr went on to claim that he was pleased with his team’s defense during the comeback attempt and that the Warriors will be well in spite of this recent slump.

Via Youngmisuk: “Steve Kerr loved the defense he saw to get back into the game over the last three quarters. While he says it was a tough loss and Warriors are on a 3-game skid, he keeps big picture in mind and says team will be fine. He says Warriors are a good team and it’s an 82-game season.”

The Warriors suffered a difficult defeat, but winning the game without Curry was always going to be difficult.
