The Golden State Warriors, who began the 2024–25 season with a 12–3 record, have already lost two consecutive games by an average of 9 points. The Warriors’ home loss to the Brooklyn Nets on Monday was undoubtedly not ideal, but they were particularly hurt by the absence of support for star point guard Steph Curry.
Curry shot 8-16 from three-point range and 0-1 from inside the arc, dishing out 28 points and dishing out seven assists. Regretfully, the Warriors let Nets point guard Dennis Schroder lead Brooklyn’s 18-point comeback with 31 points and 7 assists.
After Monday’s loss to the Nets, Curry made an open speech to reporters, stating that this club needs to reach a higher level.

“We’re still playing 12 guys,” Curry said. “You have to be able to adjust no matter what the combinations are… We all have to be committed to making those adjustments. But on the whole we’re playing pretty solid for the most part. There is another level to get to and that will kind of decide what the fate of this team is.”
The Warriors’ two straight losses during the three-day period represent their only losing run of the season so far, thus a great 2024–25 campaign shouldn’t be overshadowed by the disappointing losses.
The Nets rallied from an 18-point hole in the third quarter to defeat the Warriors 41-28 in the fourth quarter of Monday’s game. Steve Kerr’s odd rotation, which saw him play Curry and Draymond Green for just 29 minutes each against Brooklyn, has drawn criticism from many fans.
The Warriors have an opportunity to bounce back with a statement at home against the powerful Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday.
