The Golden State Warriors played the Cleveland Cavaliers in Ohio on Friday night.
They lost 7-2 in their first nine games after being thrashed 136-117.
In his interview with the media following the defeat, head coach Steve Kerr was candid.
Kerr: “I didn’t feel like I did a great job the last two days of getting the guys ready to play. This was all about Cleveland and their performance. They were phenomenal.”
The new season is off to a great start for the Warriors.
They had recently defeated the Boston Celtics 118–112 on Wednesday.
Kerr also added: “We had 13 turnovers in the first half. We were completely disorganized.”
One of the NBA’s biggest surprises has been Buddy Hield.
The former Oklahoma standout, however, shot 1/4 from three-point range and finished with just three points, two rebounds, and one assist.
The Warriors’ next game is a trip to Oklahoma on Sunday to play the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The Thunder are 8-1 in their first nine games, so facing them will be another difficult task.
The Warriors lost in the play-in round last season, which prevented them from making it to the NBA playoffs.
Kerr has been leading Golden State for ten seasons.
With a 10-0 record, the Cavaliers are the NBA’s best team.
They will host Cam Thomas and the Brooklyn Nets in Ohio on Saturday night for their next game.
